Angama Mara Tented Camp & Maasai Mara

Angama Mara Tented Camp and the Maasai Mara National Reserve

Situated on the far northern edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the Angama Mara Tented Camp perches high on the rim of East Africa’s Great Rift Valley. It boasts a stunning view of the Mara Triangle, with its name inspired by the Swahili word for “suspended in mid-air”.

NOT SURE WHERE TO VISIT IN AFRICA?

Each morning guests can watch as hot air balloons slowly float by through the floor-to-ceiling glass fronts of their luxurious tented suite. Stylish guest areas are situated on the edge of the Ololoolo Escarpment, which is where some of the most famous scenes from the movie “Out of Africa” were filmed.

The Angama Mara Tented Camp is served by a private airstrip, which offers convenient access from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. It lies on the doorstep of exceptional game-viewing throughout the year, as well as being visited by the Great Wildebeest Migration as it thunders through the region. Aside from thrilling game drives, the camp also provides a stunning setting for Maasai cultural visits, hot air ballooning and walking safaris to get up close to some of the region’s often overlooked species.
