Sala’s Camp and the Maasai Mara National Reserve

Sala’s Camp and the Maasai Mara National Reserve

Situated in a remote corner of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Sala’s Camp is one of the first properties in the Mara ecosystem to greet the arriving herds of the Great Wildebeest Migration. It lies at the confluence of the Sand and Keekerok Rivers, with this enviable setting offering spectacular game viewing throughout the year.

NOT SURE WHERE TO VISIT IN AFRICA?

With just seven luxurious tents and a maximum of 18 guests, Sala’s Camp is ideal for visitors wanting an exclusive wildlife viewing experience away from the crowds. This game-rich region is home to a huge diversity of species, including the “Big Five” and exceptional birdlife. However, the highlight on the annual calendar is the arrival of the wildebeest, zebras and opportunistic predators on their annual journey north. After making the precarious crossing over the crocodile-infested Mara River, they disperse across the plains of the Maasai Mara where they spend time refuelling before making the return journey south.

The proximity of Sala’s Camp to Nairobi makes it easily accessible by road, as well as being served by scheduled and charter flights to the Keekorok Airstrip. It’s garnered a reputation for its exceptional hospitality, wildlife-focused activities and comfortable safari tents, which boast private verandahs and plunge pools.
