Best time to visit the &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti
June and July are the best months to visit the Serengeti National Park if you want to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration. It’s during these months that the herds gather along the banks of the Grumeti River to make the precarious crossing of its crocodile-filled waters. With the rainy season coming to a close, the landscapes are still a lush green during this period, which makes for incredible photos.
Light rains fall across the Serengeti region from November through to March, although these short downpours are usually followed by clear, sunny skies. Heavier downpours are experienced between March and May, although this is an ideal time for twitchers to visit as migratory birds flock to the Serengeti from Europe and Asia.
