Best time to visit the Mkombe’s Private House Lamai Northern Serengeti

While June and July are generally considered the best months for visiting the Serengeti to see the annual Great Wildebeest Migration, August and September are when the action begins along the banks of the Mara River. But the Northern Serengeti can be visited throughout the year, with large populations of zebra, topi, impala, giraffe and buffalo regularly coming and going.

Light rains are usually experienced across the region from November through to March while March to May is marked by heavier downpours. While this can cause some disruptions to travel plans, it results in exceptional birdwatching as migratory species flock from Europe and Asia to the lush, green landscapes of the Northern Serengeti.
