When to Go

Best time to visit the Grumeti Reserve

It’s a year around destination but June and July are the best months to visit Singita Grumeti if you want to see the wildebeest migration in full swing, with the herds gathering along the banks of the Grumeti River to make the precarious crossing. June marks the end of the rains, so the landscapes are still a lush green for photogenic game drives and there’s plenty of water in the rivers to create dramatic scenes.

The region experiences light rains from November through the March, but this is often no more than a short downpour, followed by clear, sunny skies. March to May is a period of heavier downpours, although you will benefit from exceptional birdwatching as migratory birds flock from Europe and Asia.
