 From your lavish villa on the slopes of an eroded caldera, designed in the tradition of Rwandan royalty, admire through a misty veil the two extinct volcanoes, Bisoke and Karisimbi. Where primatologist Dian Fossey runs his research station, Karisoke, dedicated to saving mountain gorillas from extinction. Walk through the verdant rainforest up to nearly 3,000 meters to visit the haunting ruins of Karisoke and Fossey's grave, next to his beloved gorilla, Digit. Here, gorillas, now numbering more than 1,000 across the Virunga massif, await you. For a precious hour, your allotted family can provide the greatest encounter of your life.

 The Gorillas Walk is the star attraction, but nearby Volcanoes National Park offers other adventures: walking through golden monkeys; hiking Fossey; climb Mount Bisoke.
