Perched high on the remote north-western rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, Entamanu sits far from the cluster of larger lodges, in one of the most spectacular and private positions on the rim. From here the views reach in two directions at once — down into the crater on one side, and out across the Serengeti plains and the Great Rift Valley on the other.
Just six suites, one of them a two-bedroom family unit, are strung along the ridge, each with its own viewing deck. At around 2,600 metres the air is cool and the mood unhurried: days are spent descending to the crater floor for game viewing, walking the highlands and rim with Maasai guides, and sharing stories around the fire in the characterful mess.
