The Lodge

Mkombe's Private House Lamai

Positioned in one of the richest game areas of the Serengeti, Mkombe’s Private House Lamai has been specifically designed for families wanting to experience this stunning corner of the world. It’s the only self-contained private house in the Serengeti and overlooks the scenic Wogakuria Kopjes district and its wildlife-filled plains.

The house is named after the late guide, Mkombe Mniko, who was one of the founders of Nomad Tanzania (the camp operator that owns the property). It’s been designed to accommodate up to 10 guests (four adults and six children) or groups of six to eight adults traveling together.

Aside from a spacious lounge with cozy armchairs and a big fireplace, the property also features an elegant dining room and a projection home-cinema where you can watch DVDs. The extensive deck is built around a series of kopje rocks and features a shaded dining area, plus plenty of chill-out areas. It also boasts two inviting swimming pools that include a small plunge pool, which is ideal for kids.

When you stay at Mkombe’s Private House Lamai, you’ll be well looked after by the on-site staff, which includes a butler, a chef and a housekeeper. A private driver/guide will whisk you away on daily game drives to discover the wildlife wonders of the Serengeti while the grounds man will ensure no game accidentally roams onto the premises.
