2 Nights - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at the Onsea House Machweo Lodge, begin the drive towards Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly beautiful park that is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems. It centres around a huge soda lake that’s fringed by pink flamingos and is surrounded by a dense forest where a large population of baboons, giraffes, elephants, impalas and dik-diks all reside. Lake Manyara National Park was described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa” and once you arrive, you will understand why. Aside from an exceptional birdlife that will keep twitchers entertained for hours, it’s also renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. In the late afternoon, you’ll depart Lake Manyara National Park and make your way to the Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge. Take time to freshen up before dinner at the lodge and a night at your leisure.

After breakfast at the Neptune Ngorongoro LuxuryLodge, begin the spectacular drive down into the heart of the Ngorongoro Crater for an action-fuelled game drive. Aside from being one of the best places in East Africa to see endangered black rhinos (with less than 1,000 remaining in the world), the Ngorongoro Crater is also teeming with zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and hippos. It’s officially home to the “Big Five” (with the crater walls acting as a natural enclosure for wildlife to thrive) and has been designed as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders thanks to its staggering beauty. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater during your game drive, then return in the late afternoon to the Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge where you’ll spend the night.

2 Nights - Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll begin the drive into the legendary Serengeti National Park where you’ll be staying at the central One Nature Nyaruswiga Camp. Arriving in time for lunch, there will be time for a short siesta before your first afternoon game drive through the Serengeti’s iconic savannah. The park is famed for having one of the largest concentrations of big mammals in the world, as well as providing a setting for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. This natural spectacle sees more than a million wildebeest traverse 3,000 kilometres across East Africa, followed by hundreds of thousands of zebras and opportunistic predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, giraffes, hippos and impalas, as well as warthogs and crocodiles awaiting their prey in the Serengeti’s rivers.

In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the One Nature Nyaruswiga Camp where you can relax before dinner is served.

Wake early for another day of exhilarating game drives through the Central Serengeti. Your expert guide will drive you to all the best-known spots for wildlife sightings, tailoring the safari to your interests. All meals will be served at the One Nature Nyaruswiga Camp, with lunch offered as a picnic if you prefer to stay out in the field for the entire day.

2 Nights - North Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at One Nature Nyaruswiga Lodge, begin the drive to the North Serengeti, with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife en route. By lunchtime, you’ll arrive at the Lemala Kuria Hills Camp where you’ll have time to relax and freshen up. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on another game drive along the Mara River where the annual migration gathers before crossing this waterway and making their way into Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. At the peak of the migration season, around three million animals are congregated in the region, making for some exceptional wildlife encounters. A highlight is watching the wildebeest and zebras attempt to cross the Mara River while stealthy crocodiles lie in wait and pounce at every available opportunity to catch their prey. After an undeniably exciting day, you’ll return to the Lemala Kuria Hills Camp for a leisurely dinner recounting your adventures.

Spend another day wildlife spotting in the North Serengeti along the mighty Mara River during both morning and afternoon game drives. Wake early to experience the wildlife at its most active, returning to the camp in the middle of the day for lunch and time to relax. In the late afternoon, you’ll head out again on a game drive when the landscape is at its most photogenic as the sun slowly descends towards the horizon.
